Shahrukh khan at vijay awards - special story

Bollywood Baadshah Shahrukh Khan (SRK) was the cynosure of eyes at the Vijay TV awards in Chennai. King Khan who flew down to Chennai in a chartered flight took the stage by midnight.

Vijay TV bestowed the Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan award on SRK. Shahrukh received the award from Kamal Haasan, Vijay and members from the family of Sivaji Ganesan.

In his speech, SRK recalled his younger days as an assistant organizer at the National Film Awards. He was once   accompanying Sivaji Ganesan who was about to receive the award. Due to the bad stairs, Sivaji was about to slip and he leaned on SRK. SRK said that the award made him recall the episode and he is very happy to receive the award instituted in the name of the legendary actor.

He said that he enjoyed working with Kamal Haasan and Ajith Kumar in his career. Shahrukh had  worked with Kamal Haasan in Tamil-Hindi bilingual ‘Hey Ram’ and with Ajith Kumar in Hindi film ‘Asoka’.

“I may be the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL cricket league, but my favorite team is Chennai Super Kings," said Shahrukh to a cheering crowd. Kamal Haasan who was present with SRK said that SRK did not take any money for acting in his critically acclaimed film Hey Ram and on that account he is still indebted to him.

The Thuppakki team swept the awards function with Vijay receiving the Best Entertainer Awards. King Khan handed over special category awards to actor Vijay and director A.R Murugadoss.

SRK even made an otherwise shy and reserved Vijay to dance with him for the Google Google song from Thuppakki, which also won an award. Before dancing with Vijay SRK removed his coat and said that he is removing the coat as the Chennai weather is too hot for him. On a funny note he said that he is not fit as actor Vijay, who has a perfectly toned body.
